Aphaenogaster senilis is a well-suited species for both beginners and advanced keepers. Its larvae are capable of feeding independently as long as prey is nearby. Aphaenogaster senilis queens can be mated without a nuptial flight. After mating, they leave the colony with a few workers and establish their own.
