Camponotus cruentatus is a very active species of ant that is mostly found in dry areas. They are very aggressive toward nest disturbances and prey. Camponotus cruentatus is a relatively easy species to keep; no heat mat or similar is required, but a light source of heat would be helpful for faster growth.
