Chocolate cockroaches (Shelfordella lateralis)

Chocolate cockroaches are the perfect food for ants and other terrarium inhabitants, they have little fat and lots of protein.

It's best to pour boiling water over them or place them in the freezer for a while. Chocolate cockroaches have a soft shell, so they don't necessarily need to be cut up.
